#89 "Sorceress", first appeared at the 1970 Reno National Air Races. It was designed and built by Lee Mahoney, who had previously raced a Starduster, and his father. The aircraft did not have enough testing time to qualify for the race, but was allowed to fly in the consolation race with an automatic last place finish. In following years it was an extremely successful racer. It was sold to Don Beck in 1972 and he donated it to the National Air and Space museum in the early 1980s.
