Clem Fisher first raced #8 "Super Mong" at Reno in 1966. He placed 3rd in the second heat that year and continued to race the airplane into the 1970's. The aircraft experienced an exhaust valve failure on takeoff from Sidney Nebraska in 1979 which led to a fatal crash.
